Dunstable Town FC was pleased to welcome Relton Herron, CEO of Relton Digital Marketing, to Creasey Park last week to “unveil” the company’s pitch side advertising board at Creasey Park.
Relton & his team have been advising the club on a digital marketing strategy to help promote the Club’s status as pioneers of positive mental health in non-league football.
Dunstable Town FC has benefited from Relton’s vast experience in the field and look forward to a long-term friendship & collaborative working on this current project to place positive mental health at the top of non-league football’s agenda.
The club has not only benefited from his strategic support, but with exposure on Three Counties Radio and newspaper exposure
Relton commented that; “The importance of men’s mental health is more pertinent than ever before. Having sort counselling myself, the benefits have been life changing and I would encourage anyone to reach out to the Club’s Mental Heath First Aiders. Speaking to someone, will absolutely lift a weight from you.”
The football club’s work with the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) will see aspects of the Club’s mental health support and awareness programme roll out among the FSA’s community owned clubs network later this year.
It provides three mental health peer support groups, a group for people who may be lonely and socially isolated, a Walking Football group for people living with dementia & a range of other community support groups as part of its physical health & mental well-being programme, Improving the Lives of Others.
It also has Mental Health First Aiders on duty at every First Team matches, provides mental health awareness sessions for all First Team players & has two Mental Health Ambassadors, Chris Bryden & Yvonne Verla to help network & liaise with an increasing number of supporters, co-owners, volunteers and sponsors.
Dunstable Town FC has enjoyed a long term friendship with Mind BLMK & would like to thank its community groups’ partners, Titan PCN, Tibbs Dementia Foundation & the East London NHS Foundation Trust Recovery College, main sponsor, Mayday Vehicle Rentals & the GMB Beds County Branch for their financial support covering both football & mental health activities.
