Town revisited Wormley Rovers following the abandonment of the original game back in December due to a waterlogged pitch.

Rovers have been having a good season following promotion via the playoffs and were lying in 6th place before kick off.

Steve O’Reilly rotated his squad with several changes from the Shefford Town & Campton game ten days earlier.

The opening moments were limited to action in the middle of the pitch with little goalmouth incidents until the 14th minute when a good team move by the visitors saw Luka Lodder just unable to cut the ball back to a teammate.

Four minutes later Alex Desmond saved well from Wormley’s first real effort on target.

Town opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Alfie Osborne met a corner at the back post which he headed back across the box where Frankie Bircham prodded home from two yards.

Desmond superbly saved a shot from a Wormley striker two minutes later to keep his team in front.

Rovers rather fortunately drew level on 34 minutes when a Reece Mosanya free kick on the edge of the area took a wicked deflection which wrong-footed Desmond and found the net despite the Blues’ keeper best efforts to keep it out.

Before half time Desmond saved well again even though the effort at goal was ruled offside then Liam Hayden went through twice in successive minutes but was denied by Carlos Simeon in the Rovers goal.

Dunstable’s achilles heal has been slow starts to halves on occasions and it proved to be the case when Wormley took the lead within two minutes of the second half.

Town seemed to be too open as a through ball found Noah Mosanya in space to finish past Desmond.

Hayden shot over on 54 minutes but the Blues equalised on the hour mark when Osborne was left unmarked to head home a corner with ease from four yards.

There was little opportunities for the rest of the game but there was a moment to remember for Mulik Rickman in the 87th minute who signed for the club in the summer while still recovering from an ACL injury with complications on top it meant he had spent nearly 3 years on the sidelines but the eight minutes he played at the end of the match will feel a huge relief.

The home side had the last shot of the game in injury time which went wide as it ended in a second consecutive 2-2 draw for Dunstable.

Town are on a good run of one defeat in 11 league matches. They meet neighbours Crawley Green at the Brache on Saturday.

Team: Desmond; James; Briggs; Butt; Ovington; Osborne; Goulding; Bircham; Hayden; Mead; Lodder.

Subs: Carr; Howgego; Rickman; Sales; Kenna.

Attendance: 60.

Town Man of the Match: Jack James.
