Dunstable Town finally got the win they had been craving for and deserved after some good performances of late that had seen a number of draws in their last outings.
It was a very good team performance from back to front with Alex Desmond in the Town goal making some excellent saves to contribute to the win.
The Town keeper made a fantastic block from Mekhi Angol in the 8th minute then Liam Hayden finished just inside the far past for his second goal in as many games two minutes later, with a delightfully accurate strike..
Midway through the half Josh Mollison denied Ethan Goulding.with a fine save before Harrison Mead clipped the outside of the post at the other end.
Great pressing by Hayden who stole the ball from the United backline, cut it back to Finbar King but he shot wide in a frantic last five minutes of first half action, which saw another great save by Desmond to deny Angol.
A low free kick by Liam Smyth was well gathered by Desmond then Carmichael Uchanna shot over for United.
The second half started with King just unable to reach Hayden’s pass to open his goalscoring account
On 64 minutes Desmond saved low down from Smyth then superbly tipped over his header soon after.
With seven minutes left Hayden drove a shot over the bar then Kevin Owusu should have scored but ahor straight at Desmond.
Desmond also magnificently tipped over another Owusu effort.
Joe Hankins went through on goal and calmly slotted the ball past Mollison two double the lead in the 87th minute.
Luke Carter eventually beat Desmond with an angled shot inside the box in the sixth minute of injury time but Town saw the last few minutes our to take the points.
