Ten man Dunstable Town had to settle for a point against Aylesbury Vale Dynamos on Saturday after visitors scored an added time equaliser.

Steve O’Reilly made a few changes to the starting line up with Mulik Rickman starting his first game for the club after long term injury.

The visitors had the better of the opening minutes with Aaron Onginjo making Alex Desmond save his effort on 11 minutes followed by a Pierce McNamara shot that was well wide of the target.

Town took the lead in the 18th minute with a great move that involved Harrison Mead and Liam Hayden with the latter crossing for Luka Lodder to fire home from close range.

Aylesbury responded with a free kick from Jayden Moore that deflected for a corner which was cleared by the Blues’ defence.

Casual play from Town nearly saw an equaliser when they lost possession and needed Desmond to save Onginjo’s effort low down on the half hour.

Dunstable took their foot off gas and conceded another free kick around the penalty area but the defensive wall stood firm as they took a one goal lead into the break.

Town were caught cold in the opening minute of the second half as Desmond made a fine save to deny Onginjo.

Hayden almost produced a carbon copy of the opening goal when he got to the byline and crossed but there was no one on hand to convert.

On 65 minutes the game took a twist when Jamie Ovington was sent off for a professional foul for tripping Exaucee Buanga when he was through on goal.

Four minutes later Kyle Lawrence’s shot was blocked as the visitors looked to capitalise on the extra man.

Dunstable made a number of changes to try and be more defensive and send on fresh legs for those who had worked so hard.

Aylesbury thought they had equalised on the stroke of an astonishing fifteen minutes of added time but Terry Griffiths’ strike was ruled out for offside.

A member of their coaching team was then dismissed before Town switched off at a short corner from which Fabian Garcia crossed for Buanga to head home in the fourth minute off the fifteen added.

The game was still not done though, Lodder unleashed a superb strike destined for the top corner but Conor Beattie produced an equally stunning save to deny Dunstable the three points.

It’s now one defeat in fifteen games for the Blues but they will feel a little frustrated not to turn some of the draws into wins.
