Match Preview: Harpenden Town

By James Smith

Town return to league action on Saturday following a couple of postponements due to the weather.

Dunstable Town’s current league record:

P W D L F A GD PTS

19 5 5 9 19 34 -15 20

Despite the scoreline in the friendly with Cranfield United on Saturday it was a positive workout with many players getting minutes who needed them.

Many chances were created but for their keeper and a bit more ruthlessness Dunstable could have won the game easily.

The Blues will be without Will Bishop who sustained a bad looking muscular injury in that game.

Kyle Davison-Gordon and Mulik Rickman continue their rehabilitation from ACL injuries.

The Opposition

The Harps can score a lot and concede a fair few as their record shows having recently beaten Crawley Green 7-1 and Tring Athletic 4-1.

The 3-3 draw with MK Irish recently and a 5-4 defeat at home to Potton United earlier in the season highlights how exciting games involving the hosts can be.

Former Blue Danny Webb is the second highest scorer in the league this season with 19 goals to his name. We know how hard Webby works for his teams and will be a constant threat.

Harpenden Town’s current league record:

P W D L F A GD PTS

19 7 4 8 41 43 -2 25

One to watch: We could have gone for Webby but most everyone knows his strengths already!

We’ve picked out keeper Liam Gauthier who has gone under the radar to some but is a top goalkeeper who has spent time on loan at a local clubs while at St Albans City before joining Harpenden.
