Dunstable Town FC Chair, Andrew Madaras, will step down from his position at the Club’s AGM in June, after five years in the role.
During this period the Club restructured in 2021 to become a Community Benefit Society and now operates as a social enterprise, supporting over two hundred people every week through a range of different community support groups as part of the Club’s physical health and mental wellbeing programme, Improving the Lives of Others.
The Club’s work has been recognised locally with the successive Beds FA awards of Grassroots Club of the Year in 2021 and 2022 and nationally by the Non-League Paper who awarded the Club the prestigious title of Community Club of the Year 2024.
The Club is now fully owned by its supporters, a move which has seen match day attendances more than double and the number of volunteers working behind the scenes, in our community support groups and on match days grow to over fifty.
Andrew will continue to serve as Director of Community Activities and represent the Club at the BNI networking meetings but will spend more time working with our parent body, the Football Supporters’ Association, to roll out aspects of the Club’s mental health strategy across the FSA’s community owned clubs’ network.
